Mommy and Brody Weekend

Well, after a very long week of being professional mom and traveling, my flight got in late Friday night after Brody was in bed. Dad was at a bowling tournament all weekend (yep, I said it- Bowling!) so it was just a weekend of me getting to be mommy with my boy. I could hardly sleep Friday night because I had missed Brody so much and was so excited to see him Saturday morning. When he got up Saturday, he was so happy and we had so much fun all weekend long! It was great to just be a mom and nothing else for two days. We ran errands, went by the Baby Expo with Denise (Which BTW, is not worth it!) and then I ran the Redbud on Sunday while Denise and Laura walked Brody in the stroller walk. Brody was so tired from all of the excitement that he conked out tonight at 6:00 for what I thought was a nap but has yet to wake up! His bedtime is normally 8:00 so I'm just letting him sleep on through the night. Hopefully, that will not come back to haunt me! :) Thought I would download a pic that Auntie Lenice took while watching Brody Friday night. It just cracks her up how Brody guzzles his bottle and downs it one handed :)

Beautiful Day

We had a great day today. Brody was feeling wonderful and seems to back to his old self- happy, laughing, playing and most importantly eating! We got to see Grandma today when Jeff did her taxes and then Brody and mom went out running with the jogging stroller. Brody loved the ride and babbled almost the whole time until he fell asleeep at the very end. Brody is also enjoying his new radio flyer horsie that Nana and Papa got him for Christmas. Moommy and Daddy are still busy working on the house and hope to have everything done by mid-summer. We are planning our yard work right now and trying to get sod laid in the front yard. It is fun, yet stressful at the same time, to pick out things like lighting, etc. Life is good-we have a lot to be thankful for! Oh and Brody, Jeff and Jonice have to give a shout out to auntie Lenice who is training for the half marathon and ran 11 miles this morning all before I even made it out of bed! We are so proud of her and amazed by her dedication- we admire her so much!!!

Looking Up!

Things are looking up for Brody. He has not vomited for the last two days! Yay! His new formula and medicine seem to be working. Now, the only problem is getting him to actually drink the new formula. It is hypoallergenc and completely bland. He has been so used to the other forumula that he hates this one. I am being creative with mixing it with things like flavored pedialite to get him to drink it. If anyone has ideas, let us know! Thank you to all of our friends and family for the many notes and prayers. We are so blessed to have each of you in our lives and so is Brody! Brody says thanks because he knows your prayers have helped him ;) Now, hopefully the next few posts will be upbeat and fun!

Update on Brody

I want to say thank you to everyone for all of your prayers for Brody. For those who don't know, Brody has been very sick for the last two weeks vomiting. It is not a life and death situation by any means but he is definitely in pain, poor baby. We are sure that for the first seven days he had a very bad gastro virus. It took him a long time to get over but he finally did. He was better for about two or three days and then started vomiting again but this time without the fever and diarrhea. He cannot seem to hold any food down for more than a couple of hours. He pretty much vomits everything and is in a lot of pain but yet starving at the same time. His doctor has been wonderful and been trying to help us figure out what the issue is. We think it is a gastric issue in his stomach that may have been set off by the virus. An upper GI was done today and it ruled out pyloric stenosis which is wonderful because we were worried about that. Now, we are just wiating to see a specialist. Hopefully we can get in soon- there are no open appointments in the near future (we were told the end of April if lucky but middle of May but are trying everything we can to get in asap). However, his doctor has been talking to a specialist and they are trying him on some new medicine and formula. Hopefully we will see a change in the next few days. If not, then there is a chance he may have to be admitted to the hospital so that a specialist can see him. Meanwhile, he is still vomiting and feeling aweful. He wants a bottle so bad and is so hungry but he hates the new formula and again, cannot take much in anyways. But, goodness he is such a strong little boy! Tonight, you could tell he was in such pain and just laid in my arms whining but tried to play with my shirt and give me some smiles. We just looked at each other and started laughing... and then I started crying. This last two weeks have just really been hard and it is breaking my heart to see him like this. Jeff has also been such an amazing and protective dad of Brody. He is just right there by his side and giving 300% to our baby. You know, I truly have so much to be thankful for. There are so many children out there who live with conditions much worse than this. God has so blessed our little family. I am so incredibly proud of Brody and how strong he is being and how much of an amazing and fun baby he is. He really has our hearts!

This pic above is Brody on Saturday morning sick as can be but he still insisted on picking out his socks when I got him dressed ;) and gave a smile for daddy and the camera.

Sitting Up!

We are sitting up this week! I am posting pics as proof :) Brody is loving sitting up and playing with his toys or toys. He canot sit himself up but if we sit him up he will actually stay! He is such a roly poly cutie baby that he would fall over for so long :) (went to the doc last week and he is 90th percentile for wieght - 20 pounds, 2 ounces- and 95th for height- 28 1/2 inchces long) . We only have 4 more days until Brody is seven months old. He is so active and fun right now the months are flying by!

Getting Better!

Well, after five months of having a nasty cough constantly and congestion off and on, Brody is finally getting some relief! We have been going to the doctor and they decided to change his medication to singulair and allegra and he is getting better each day (yay!!). We were getting worried because his cough would just never let up. So, now that he is feeling better that just means more time for laugh, squeals, smiles and FUN. I'm sure a lot fo you will be happy to hear this news as so many people were worried about that cough!

It's great to be ME!

So, I wanted to show all of you my favorite toy- my crazy jumperoo! Isn't it great? I can fly through the air all day long- I love it! I just learned how to jump so now I want to jump for all of infinity. This is great for when mommy and daddy want to do things like cook, clean or even better, make ME a bottle! So, I bet all of you are wishing you were me right now, huh? Nothing can be better than taking leaps as high as I can go (oh, and I AM good!), eating and sleeping all day! Life is great

Love, Brody
